This is the main dish we made for Valentine’s day. It is not light. For special occasions I like to stuff my mouth with rich dishes. My eyes are usually bigger than my stomach;)
The filet mignons were bought at Earth Fare. We seasoned them with sea salt and ground pepper and fresh herbs. They were also wrapped in natural bacon. I could not find organic bacon. Does it exist?
The meat was cooked in two ways. First, in a pot you melt a spoon of butter and you brown the meat. After you place the meat in the preheated oven at 375. Then reduce to 350. You need a thermometer to measure the temperature inside the meat to assure the meat does not over cook. There is nothing worse than over cooked meat.
